I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am that American Eagle launched a curvy denim line! Seriously, now I can actually kiss waist gaps good bye. While I’ve always been a fan of AE denim since they’ve continually offered a short inseam length, this latest product launch is a game changer for me! I always wore a belt with my AE jeans in the past (pictured above!). One other thing that’s super impressive about their new line is that they carry Sizes 00-24 as well as Short and X-Short inseam lengths! However, it’s important to note that their extended sizes and inseam lengths are only available online.
Out of all the styles I tried on, I definitely had the best luck with their jeggings. Keep reading for my honest review of all their new curvy denim styles :)
Reformation is a brand that can be very hit or miss me. Sometimes styles fit very well and other times don’t seem to be cut for my body. Over the past couple times I’ve shopped, I find that I have the best luck with their dresses and tops. Recently I had the chance to visit their store and check out their latest pieces - keep reading for the full reviews of everything I tried on.
Last year I realized that I wanted to start investing more in the pieces in my wardrobe (ranging from clothes to footwear). There have been a number of fast fashion items in my closet that I’ve truly loved from a design perspective, but sadly they have worn out after a year or two. Personally, I’m someone who likes to find classic yet trend-forward and interesting pieces that will last me more than one season. While on my blog in the past I’ve highlighted a lot of different trends each season, I’ve realized through the process I prefer to have a more consistent style. (Plus I seriously don’t have the energy to shop all the time!) Don’t get me wrong, I still love trying out new trends from time to time, but I’ve learned that my overall personal style is less defined by following all the latest trends.
If I had to pick one denim brand to wear for the rest of my life, it would probably be Levi’s. Personally, I find their denim to be some of the most pear-friendly out there. Their Mile High Skinny Jeans were legit the first pair of jeans I ever bought that didn’t have a waist gap when I put them on. It felt like a small miracle in my books!
Another thing that I love about Levi’s jeans is that they use a men’s sizing scale. This gives you so many more options to choose from compared to most size scales for women's jeans. This is how men's sizing works if you are not already familiar: the first number listed is the waist measurement and the second number listed is the inseam (or length measurement). Typically Levi’s offers women's waist sizes from 24’’ – 34’’ and inseam lengths of 28’’, 30’’, 32’’ and 34’’, which gives you more flexibility to find one that will work well for your body type.
Over the last two years I’ve finally found the styles that work best for me from Levi’s so I wanted to share them all with you :)
