Hi.

I'm Kristin! A short & curvy girl seeking clothes that fit. Originally from the South, I'm now taking on NYC! My blog is dedicated to providing style and fit guides for petite-pear shaped women.

Faux-Leather ShortsI loved the article posted on the Man Repeller in collaboration with the 12ish Style earlier this summer. Her tips were on point and much appreciated as a pear-shaped girl who normally dreads shorts shopping. Usually by the time I find a pair of shorts that fits over my hips I end up with a waist gap in back.

What I love...

  • High Waisted - I never thought I would try high-waisted shorts, but now that I have I’m never going back. High-waisted shorts are great for pear-shapes because they highlight the narrowest part of your body.

  • Wide/Flared leg opening - These shorts are pleated at waist and the leg opening flares out, which I found complement my curvy thighs. Leg Opening measurement = 14.5''.

What could be better..

  • Material - While (faux) leather looks chic, these shorts can be a little toasty in the heat! So  better save these for the indoor parties with AC! I found an interesting tip about shorts on the Curvy Fashionista. They recommend wearing shorts with heavier fabrics because it prevents them from riding up. Overall, these shorts are a win in my books.

Garment measurements:

Waist = 29''

Inseam = 2.5''

Leg opening = 29''

Front Rise = 12''

Crew Neck Sweater Tank

What I love..

  • High/Low Hemline - As a girl with #ShortTorsoProblems, I especially love high/low hemline shirts because it means that the front hem of the shirt will fall at flattering length (sightly past my waist) and not overwhelm my small frame. Center front measurement = 20.5".

  • Crew Neck - Crew necks are not my normal go-to neckline, but I found that this sweater tank is cut in a curve-flattering way, so it doesn’t make you look bulky. It also helps that the bottom hem flares out. Bottom opening = 19.5".

  • Army Green - Love this color - I find that it complements my light brown hair, beige skin tone, and hazel eyes.

What could be better...

  • Tends to snag - As much as I love this tank, it does tend to snag so I have to be a little more careful.

Garment measurements:

Chest = 33"

Center back = 22"

Center front = 20.5"

Bottom opening =19.5" (39" total)

Shoes: The shoes I’m wearing I got for such a good deal at Topshop – only $28 marked down from $140.

Cropped Sweater Tank Top

What I love....

  • Cropped - There’s nothing I love more than a crop top, especially one that’s classy enough to wear in the office. Cropped is the answer to my #ShortTorsoProblems. Front Length measurement = 15’’

  • Black/White Pattern - Love this cool take on black & white!

Garment measurements:

Chest = 33’’

Front Length =  15’’

Center Back = 17.75’’
