MY 3 GO-TO SKIRT STYLES AS A PETITE PEAR
Perhaps a more appropriate title for this blog post is - if you got it, flaunt it :) When I was younger, I used to feel embarrassed about my curves. I was constantly wishing for a smaller butt and slimmer thighs. My inclination was to hide these parts of my body rather than show them off. Now that I’m a bit older and wiser, I’ve learned to love them! Which brings me to the real purpose of this post - SKIRTS! They are an amazing way to show off your pear curves whatever your personal style is. Keep reading for my favorite silhouettes and styling tricks!
THE MINI SKIRT - When you’re a shortie, mini skirts are a great way to elongate your legs :) Sometimes it’s fun to look a little bit taller! I’m fan of both fitted and A-line silhouettes for my pear shaped figure. Generally opt for mini skirts that fall at mid-thigh or a couple inches above my knee. Most of the time I pair my mini skirts back to tops or blouses that I can tuck into the skirt.

THE MIDI SKIRT - Do you find midi skirts intimidating as a petite woman? If you’ve been hesitant to try this style in the past I have a couple tips to make them seem less daunting. My number one recommendation is to buy a petite size because it’s more likely to be tailored to your stature and proportions. My second recommendation is to opt for a style that celebrates your body type. Personally, some of my favorite midi skirt styles are high-waisted A-line silhouettes and form-fitting styles with a side slit. I find both of these styles compliment my pear-shaped figure because they accentuate the smallness of my waist relative to my curvy hips. Last and final tip, pair the skirt back to a fitted top or bodysuit to further emphasize your shape.

THE PENCIL SKIRT - Pencil skirts are the ultimate way to show off your pear shaped because they hug all your curves! Like I said earlier if you got it, flaunt it :) When it comes to pencil skirts, I generally prefer styles that fall above my knee so they don’t overwhelm my petite stature. I’ve tried some midi length pencil skirts in the past, but I personally find they make me look shorter unless I wear heels. That being said - you do you! If midi length is more your vibe than go for it!
Hope these tips help make your shopping a little easier :)
