EXPRESS PETITES REVIEW

EXPRESS PETITES REVIEW

I’m excited to share this review because I’ve been wanting to check out more items from Express’ petite line ever since trying out their coats last Fall. It’s definitely been a while since I’ve shopped at Express. Honestly, I probably haven’t stepped foot in one since middle or high school. Was anyone else completely obsessed with their cami tank tops and t-shirts back in the day? While Express isn’t my go-to store, I’m always game to check out a brand that offers petite sizes.

MY MEASUREMENTS

Bust = 33’’

Waist = 27.5’’

Stomach = 31’’

Hip = 38.5’’

Thigh = 22’’

Calf = 12.25’’

Inseam = 27’’

Bicep = 9.5’’

Express Petite Drape Open Front Jacket - Size S

What I loved…

  • Length - This jacket is well proportioned for petites. The length was ideal, falling right around the top of my pants.

  • Sleeve length - Happy to report that sleeves were actually the right length on me for once!

What could have been better…

  • Slightly tight through shoulders - My only real complaint about this jacket was the shoulder area. I found it was a little tight in the front shoulder area near the armholes. It wasn’t overly noticeable, but slightly uncomfortable.

Garment measurements:

Center back = 19.5’’

Bust = 36’’

Shoulder = 14.5’’

Sleeve length = 29’’

Verdict: Buy!

Express Ruched Sleeve Boyfriend Blazer - Size S

What I loved…

  • Pear-friendly - Generally, I find blazers to be too loose in the bust area because they aren’t made for my small bust. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this one fit extremely well in the bust area.

  • Length - Not going to lie, I always get super jealous when I see people on Instagram wear oversized boyfriend blazers because they’ve never fit me quite right in the past. The length of this blazer was well-tailored for petites and accomplishes the “oversized” look without feeling like you’re swimming in fabric.

What could have been better…

  • Fabric quality - I wish the fabric of this blazer was a little bit nicer given the price.

Garment measurements:

Center back = 26.25’’

Bust = 36’’

Waist = 35’’

Bottom opening = 42’’

Shoulder = 14.5’’

Sleeve length = 22.25’’

Verdict: Buy!

Express Petite High Waisted Windowpane Pencil Skirt  - Size S

What I loved…

  • High-waisted - I love that this skirt was high-waisted because it showed off my curves.

What could have been better…

  • Slightly big in waist - This skirt was slightly too big in the waist, but it wasn’t extremely noticeable. Since the skirt fit my hip area well, there was no risk of it sliding down.

Garment measurements:

Waist = 30’’

Center front = 18.75’’

High Hip (4 inches from top of waistband) = 34.25’’

Low Hip (7 inches from top of waistband) = 36.5’’

Center back = 19.75’’

Verdict: Buy!

Express Petite Knotted V-Neck Dress - Size S

What I loved…

  • V-neckline - I always find this neckline flatters my small bust :)

  • Sleeve length - It’s such a nice feeling when the sleeves are the proper length and not swallowing your hands.

What could have been better…

  • A little short - This dress was a bit shorter than I was expecting. It hit around mid-thigh. I’d probably wear on the weekends rather than to an office or more formal setting.

Garment measurements:

Center front = 30.125’’

Bust = 37’’

Center back = 31.375’’

Shoulder = 15.25’’

Sleeve length = 28.75’’

Verdict: Buy!

Express Petite Keyhole Tie Front Striped Blouse - Size S

What I loved…

  • Keyhole detail - Really loved this detail of the blouse! (And the stripe print too!)

  • Sleeve length - Yay! Another win here on the sleeve length front. These were a nice length too.

What could have been better…

  • Tie-front - I wasn’t a huge fan of the tie on the front hem. I would have preferred the blouse without it.

Garment measurements:

Bust = 19.75’’

Center back = 21.625’’

Sleeve length = 28.25’’

Shoulder = 14.5’’

Verdict: Don’t buy, shop around!

Express Petite Faux Leather Leggings - Size M

What I loved…

  • Length - These were the perfect length to wear with flats!

What could have been better…

  • Too big in waist - I bought both a small and medium in these leggings, but the small was wayyyy to tight on me. (However, the small did fit better in the waist.) The medium on the other hand was too big in the waist, but fit much better in the hip, thigh and calf area.

Garment measurements:

Waist = 32’’

Front rise = 8.5’’

Inseam = 27.5’’

Back rise = 14.5’’

Thigh = 21’’

Verdict: Don’t buy, shop around.
