BURT'S BEES BB CREAM REVIEW
Over the years I’ve gone back and forth between using foundation and BB cream. One of the main reasons I’ve decided to switch back to BB cream again is because it doesn’t clog my pores as much as foundation.
In the past I didn’t realize how much my makeup was contributing to my acne problem. Since learning the impact, I’ve tried to be more mindful when buying base layer cosmetics.
Personally, I’ve found buying a BB cream with decent coverage a challenge in the past. I remember buying L’Oreal’s version one time only to find myself applying multiple coats to even out my skin tone. I found this totally frustrating because the tube was tiny! I remembering thinking, “I’m totally gonna end up using all of this in a week!”
After my Sephora foundation ran out the other week, I started shopping around to find some sort of replacement. I was doing my monthly routine shopping at Walmart (because buying makeup at the drugstore in NYC is outrageous) and I stumbled upon Burt’s Bees BB cream.
The main reason I bought it was because it’s freaking steal! $6.99 for 1.7 fluid ounces. The other big brands only give you 1.0 fluid ounces for around the same price.
When I used it for the first time, I was really impressed by the level of coverage. It evened out my skin tone, but didn’t look like full coverage foundation. Best of all it’s super lightweight so it doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing it.
The last thing, I really love about this BB cream is that it has 15 SPF protection. Now that I use a retinoid gel to treat my acne, I have to wear sunscreen everyday to avoid getting burnt. (Retinoids increase your skins sensitivity to the sun.) Although I generally put on sunscreen before applying makeup, it’s nice to know that if ever forget - I’m covered.
Has anyone else tried Burt’s Bees BB cream yet? Any other BB creams that you love and recommend?
