EVERLANE SWEATERS REVIEW

EVERLANE SWEATERS REVIEW

It’s starting to get cold in NYC again, and it means that it’s my least favorite of year. I’m not a fan of cold weather because it means having to wear sweaters. I’ve always found sweater shopping to be a challenge because of my body type. Sweaters never seem to fit quite right and are often too tight around my hips. In an effort to help make your sweater shopping experience easier, I’m sharing my thoughts on some Everlane sweaters that I recently tried out.

Everlane Cashmere Rib Mockneck Sweater - Size S

What I loved…

  • Side Slits - Yaasss! I love when sweaters have side slits. As someone with curvy thighs, I often find that sweaters are too tight around my waist. Having the side slits makes the sweater more forgiving for us curvy girls.

What could have been better…

  • Slightly oversized  - I think that I probably could have gone down a size because it was more roomy than I expected.

  • Sleeves slightly long - Similar to my comment above, I think sizing down would help the sleeve length issue as well.

Garment measurements:

Center front = 25.25’’

Chest = 36’’

Sleeve length = 28.63’’

Bicep = 14’’

Bottom opening = 37’’

Verdict: Buy, but would recommend sizing down.

Everlane Cashmere Waffle Squareneck Crew Sweater - Size S

What I loved…

  • Petite-friendly length - If you’ve gotta a short torso like me, this sweater will work for you!

  • Side slits - Just like the mockneck sweater above, this sweater has side slits, which is a nice feature if you’re a pear-shaped.

What could have been better…

  • Slightly oversized  - Would recommend going a size down because it seems to run slightly big!

Garment measurements:

Center front = 22.75’’

Center back = 23.75’’

Chest = 45’’

Sleeve length = 29.78’’

Bicep = 13’’

Verdict: Buy, but would recommend sizing down.

Everlane Texture Cotton V-Neck Sweater - Size S

What I loved…

  • V-neckline - You guys know well that I love a v-neckline because it compliments my pear shape and emphasizes what little I do have :)

  • Sleeve length - The sleeves were just right for my arms. Not too long at all!

  • Side slits - Celebrate! Your hips will have room to breathe.

  • Fabric - Yay cotton! I love the yarn of this sweater because it’s not itchy. I’m definitely more of a fan of cotton sweaters vs wool sweaters.

Garment measurements:

Center front = 24.5’’

Chest = 37’’

Sleeve length = 30.25’’

Bicep = 11.25’’

Bottom opening = 34’’

Verdict: Buy!

Everlane Cashmere V-Neck Sweater - Size S

What I loved…

  • V-neckline - Like I mentioned above, this sweater is one of my go-to necklines as a pear-shaped lady!

  • Petite-friendly length - This sweater was just the right length for my short torso.

What could have been better…

  • Sleeves too long -  This is generally an issue I have when buying non-petite items. I’d recommend folding them up.

  • Slightly baggy in waist & tight in hips - I think because I’m pear-shaped and this sweater is tight around my hips, it’s causing the sweater to look bulky in the waist area.

Garment measurements:

Center front = 24.5’’

Chest = 37’’

Sleeve length = 30.25’’

Bicep = 11.25’’

Bottom opening = 34’’

Verdict: Don’t buy, shop around.

Everlane Cashmere Shrunken Sweatshirt - Size S

What I loved…

  • Sleeve length just right - Such a nice feeling!

  • Fit - Overall, I liked the fit of the crewneck sweater so much better than the Cashmere V-neck sweater (above). I found that it was a nice length for me and wasn’t too baggy in the waist.

Garment measurements:

Center front = 21.75’’

Chest = 37’’

Sleeve length = 28.38’’

Bicep = 13.25’’

Bottom opening = 25.5’’

Verdict: Buy!

Everlane Luxe Wool Rib Mockneck Sweater - Size M

What I loved…

  • Nice fit - I thought this sweater fit very nicely, however the cons unfortunately outweighed the pros for me.

What could have been better…

  • Sleeves way too long - I was really sad that the sleeves were too long for me because I really loved the style of this sweater.

Garment measurements:

Center front = 22’’

Chest = 30’’

Sleeve length = 27’’

Bicep = 10.25’’

Bottom opening = 30’’

Verdict: Don’t buy, shop around.
