Extended Style Notes

Champion Jersey T-Shirt - Men’s Medium

What I loved…

  • Borrowed from the Boys - I’ve always been a fan of the tomboy look because it looks so effortless and cool, but more importantly comfortable! However, I’ve often found this look to be a little intimidating and challenging to pull off with my body type. So putting together this outfit was slightly outside my comfort zone, but ultimately I was happy with the final result.

  • Oversized - Since I’m wearing a Men’s Medium T-shirt, it's a little long for my short torso. To balance out the proportion of the shirt relative to my petite frame, I tucked it into a pair of high-waisted denim shorts. Ultimately, tucking in my t-shirt emphasized my waist and added a feminine touch to the look. If you're pear-shaped like me, this is a good style hack that will make oversized clothing seem less daunting.

What could be better…

  • Snug around the Hips - No real shocker here, but this t-shirt is tight around my curvy hips. It’s a common pear problem I encounter with longer t-shirts.

Garment measurements:

Center front = 25.75''

Chest = 38''

Sleeve opening = 7''

Center back = 26.75''

American Apparel High-Waisted Denim Shorts – Size 29

What I loved…

  • High-waisted –High rise denim has been a staple in my closet for awhile now. I’m a big fan because these styles define my waist, which is the smallest part of my body as a pear-shaped woman and emphasize my curvy hips.

  • Tried & true – RIP to American Apparel, which closed all of it's stores in April of this year :( Hands down these are the best denim shorts I have ever found. Since I have a hard time finding clothes that fit me well, when I do find a great fitting style I hold onto it. While this exact pair is no longer available you can still reference the measurements below to help you find a similar pair that might work for you. At the end of the day I still recommend trying on what you find, but these measurements are a good starting point, especially for narrowing down what to order if you’re online shopping.

Garment Measurements:

Waist = 29''

Hips = 44.25’’

Inseam = 2''
