Extended Style Notes

If you read my earlier post about where to find affordable petite activewear, you’ll know that the secret to shopping at Athleta is hitting the sale section. You can get some nice quality pieces for a good deal. If you're looking for petite sized garments on sale, be sure to check out their website because they only offer them online.

Athleta Striped Chi Tank - Size S

What I loved…

  • Racerback - This is a great simple workout tank. When it comes to activewear, I look for styles that are no-fuss and make me feel comfortable. Also I like that this tank is more form-fitted so it highlights my upper body and waist.

What could be better…

  • Too long  -  This tank is a little longer than I would like, but because I found it on sale I was willing to forgo a better fit.

Garment measurements:

Center front = 23.5''

Neck drop = 8''

Bust = 33''

Center back = 26.75''

Old Navy Go Dry Mid Rise Leggings with Mesh Panel - Size Petite M

What I loved…

  • Just the right length - These leggings made me so happy when I put them on because they weren’t too long! It’s such a rarity for me to find leggings that I don’t have to fold the excess fabric underneath. I appreciate so much that Old Navy offers petite sizing in activewear because relatively few brands do, however it makes a big difference in terms of fit. It’s a nice change to have leggings that are the proper inseam length given my height. (Inseam = 27.75'')

  • Drawstring - Since I have a pear-shaped figure and my waist is much narrower than my hips, I often find that my leggings are constantly sliding down. One of my favorite features is the drawstring waistband because it keeps them sitting snug on my waist.

What could be better…

  • Thinner fabric - The fabric on these tights is thinner relative to leggings I have bought at Athleta, but hey that comes with the territory since Old Navy's product is a lower price point. It didn’t bother me, but I think there is the potential they might wear out faster than my Athleta ones.

Garment measurements:

Waist = 28''

Inseam = 27.75''

Front Rise = 7.5''
