Hi.

I'm Kristin! A short & curvy girl seeking clothes that fit. Originally from the South, I'm now taking on NYC! My blog is dedicated to providing style and fit guides for petite-pear shaped women.

Shorts - Zara

Shoes - Michael by Michael Kors (prior season - linked to similar)

Sunglasses - Forever 21

Art Stick in Sunset Orange - Bobbi Brown

I recently finished blogging about my Spring/Summer 16 fashion trend guide for petite pears. One of the most important factors for me when I buy clothes is the ability to wear them again. They've got to serve more than one occasion and to work back to pieces I already have in my closet. In the spirit of Memorial Day I did a patriotic spin on this outfit. See the link to the original post below and how I switched up the outfit.

The Remix

  • The initial way I styled these shorts was girly, bohemian. For the remix, I thought that these navy blue shorts would look great with a crisp white top for Memorial Day.
  • I swapped out the pink cropped top and sandals to refresh this look.
  • I added the off-shoulder blouse, red bandana print headband, red chunky wedges and red orange lipstick to make this outfit feel patriotic.

Size Notes

  • These shorts from Zara are a size large. This size fits my hips and thighs well, but is a little loose in the waist because of my petite pear body type. I would definitely recommend wearing a belt! Also I found that these shorts tend to stretch out because they are made of linen fabric so all the more reason to wear a belt :)
