THE PETITE PEAR'S GUIDE TO HOLIDAY DRESSES: FIT & FLARE DRESS
Style Cliff Notes
Extended Style Notes
What I loved…
- Fit & flare – I have been neglecting this silhouette as of late on my blog, but it’s truly one of my favorite dress styles of all time to wear. It’s flattering on a wide range of body types and allows you to show off your curves without wearing a garment that is form-fitting. As a pear-shaped girl, I love this silhouette because it highlights the narrowest part of my part of my body (the waist) and complements my hips.
- Embellished - A dress with beading and embellishment is fun to way to liven up this tried and true silhouette for a holiday party.
- Vintage – Although I don’t post about vintage or thrifted clothing on a regular basis, I think thrift stores are a great place to look for a holiday dress because you never know what you will find. Two years ago, I bought this dress at a thrift store called Beacon’s Closet in New York. When I found this dress I was so excited because it’s by the designer Milly and it was dirt cheap (only $30). What makes me happiest about this purchase is the fact that I can still wear this dress because the design is so classic and timeless.
