THE PETITE PEAR'S GUIDE TO DENIM: RELEASE HEM JEANS
Style Cliff Notes
What I loved…
- Cropped – All my petite girls can probably relate to me on this one - It is such a rarity to find jeans that actually are cropped on you! Most of the time we buy cropped jeans in the regular section so they look like normal jeans on us. I’m so happy this style was offered in a petite size because it fit me properly and wasn’t too long. (Inseam = 26’’).
- Frayed hem – I have been seeing this trend everywhere lately and really wanted to give it a try! However, I was worried if I couldn’t find frayed hem jeans in a petite size I was worried it wouldn’t look right (aka too long). As I mentioned above, I was happy to find these jeans in a petite size because I like where the frayed hem hits on my leg. A small portion of my leg is exposed between the end of the jean and the top of my shoe, which draws attention to the frayed hem detail.
- Mid rise – In my previous posts, I talked a lot about the benefits of high rise jeans, but there are other types of rises that work well for pear-shaped women. I love that this jeans fits well around my thighs and butt yet also hugs my waist area snugly. Thankfully, I did not have waist gap issues with this jean. (Front rise = 8.5’’) Overall, I would recommend Style & Co Petite Denim for petite, pear-shaped because in general they tend to offer fits for curvier bodies. (Side note: I actually used to work for this brand so that’s why I have knowledge and experience with their denim fits.)
Waist = 30''
Front Rise = 8.5''
Inseam = 26''
